Pemaquid Point Association Membership

The Pemaquid Point Association (PPA) currently has over 200 members that enjoy social gatherings at the Point from June through September each year and exterior cottage inspections from October through June. We hold our annual business meeting in August. The PPA is a Maine non-profit corporation. The purpose of the PPA has changed little since its founding in 1941. Article II of the current PPA Constitution describes its purpose:
  • Engage in activities to promote the mutual benefit and welfare of the members and enhance the natural beauty of the Point;
  • Represent the membership in any business matters with the town of Bristol including policing the Point, disposing of garbage and parking in public areas;
  • Pass rules and regulations to protect property against fire hazards; and
  • Provide inspector(s) to report on cottage exterior storm damage or vandalism.

The PPA has two types of membership available:

    ACTIVE – for people owning real estate at Pemaquid Point, south of and including the residents of Bay Pines Road. Each property with an Active member is entitled to one vote at the annual business meeting and optional cottage inspections over the winter. Cottage exteriors are inspected biweekly and after major storms. Active membership is $50 per year. All legal co-owners may attend social events and be listed in the directory.

    ASSOCIATE – for anyone interested in the well-being of Pemaquid Point that does not own property within the Active member area. Associate membership is $25 per year and includes all social events and a directory listing. Associate members do not vote at the annual business meeting.

All members have access to www.pemaquidpoint.org which includes: member content, real time Pemaquid Point Lighthouse web camera, local weather, newsletters, and the membership directory.
